Refund Policy

Last updated: [DATE] · Operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [ADDRESS]

This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are issued for LinkMagik subscriptions and fees. It expands on Section 6 of our Terms of Service and forms part of those Terms. For how cancellation and account deletion work, see the Terms; for billing prices, see our pricing page.

1. The short version

There is one guaranteed refund, and everything else is considered case by case:

  • Guaranteed: charged for a renewal you didn't mean to keep? Within 7 days of that charge you can refund it yourself, instantly, from your billing settings — no need to contact us.
  • Discretionary: all other requests — including partial refunds on annual plans — go through our refund request process and are decided at our discretion.
  • Non-refundable: the one-time $25 custom-domain setup fee.

The sections below spell each of these out.

2. Guaranteed refund — unintended renewals

Our one firm promise: if you're charged for a subscription renewal you didn't intend to keep, request a refund within 7 days of that renewal charge and we will issue a full refund of that charge and end your subscription. This one is self-serve and instant — you can do it yourself from your billing settings, with no need to contact support.

This covers the common "I meant to cancel and forgot" situation. To qualify:

  • The request must be made within 7 days of the renewal charge.
  • It applies to a renewal charge (a monthly or annual subscription renewing for a new period), not to the custom-domain setup fee described in Section 4.
  • On refund, your subscription is terminated immediately and paid features end. Your account then follows the normal account-lifecycle and grace-period rules in the Terms of Service.

3. Discretionary refunds — everything else

Any refund request that isn't the 7-day unintended-renewal case above is handled at LinkMagik's sole discretion. This includes, for example:

  • Prorated refunds on the unused portion of an annual plan after the 7-day window.
  • Refunds requested more than 7 days after a renewal charge.
  • Goodwill requests and other special circumstances.

We review these individually and may grant a full, partial, or prorated refund, or decline, based on the circumstances. Where we approve a prorated annual refund, the higher-tier features stop working at the point of the refund. Granting one discretionary refund does not obligate us to grant another.

Review: statutory refund and "cooling-off" rights (e.g. EU/UK consumer law) may grant rights beyond this discretionary process and cannot be waived; this section needs attorney review and likely jurisdiction-specific carve-outs.

4. Custom-domain setup fee

Managed custom domains (included with Business, and available to Premium as an annual-only add-on) carry a one-time setup fee of $25, which is non-refundable. This fee covers the cost of registering and configuring the domain on your behalf, which we incur as soon as the work is done. The non-refundable setup fee is separate from your subscription charge, which remains subject to Sections 2 and 3 above.

5. How to request a refund

For the guaranteed unintended-renewal refund (Section 2), use the refund option in your billing settings within 7 days of the charge — it's processed automatically, with no need to contact us. For all discretionary requests (Section 3), reach us through our contact page; to help us act quickly, please include the email on your account, the approximate date and amount of the charge, and a short note on the reason.

6. What happens after a refund

When we issue a refund, it is returned to the original payment method; the time it takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider. A refund of a subscription charge ends that subscription and the related paid access. Published trees and content then follow the freeze and grace-period rules in the Terms of Service — nothing is permanently deleted without notice.

7. Refunds vs. payment disputes

If you think a charge is wrong or refundable, please use the refund request process above before opening a dispute or chargeback with your bank or card provider. We resolve legitimate billing issues directly and quickly — including the guaranteed 7-day refund — so a dispute generally isn't necessary. Chargebacks filed without first contacting us are governed by the chargeback terms in Section 7 of the Terms of Service.

8. Contact

Questions about this Refund Policy, or a refund request, can be sent through our contact page or to [CONTACT EMAIL], or by mail to [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [ADDRESS].
